Job Summary:
The person hired for this position will be a lean resource to support management in the coaching, coordination and execution of lean principles, culture change and continuous improvement.
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Supporting operational excellence strategies for the focus factory.
Aligning focus factory lean activities to support site, division, business group and corporate strategies to the customer collaborate in defining current and future state of the organization and support the value stream owners in the development of the plan to achieve the future state.
Driving collaboration between support groups and manufacturing to create and deploy strategy drives Operational Excellence through the teaching and use of Lean methodologies.
Creating and maintaining the system that uses VSIP as the lens to drive improvement plans for the site, including project hoppers.
Seeking, sharing, and implementing best practices.
Model, teach, and coach Lean behaviors.
Demonstrate enterprise excellence principles (as outlined in the Enterprise Excellence Model) in every aspect of performance.
Demonstrate passion for the potential for lean to make the enterprise more successful and work more fulfilling for all involved.
Facilitating, engaging, communicating, and teaching within all levels of the organization, and at the point where the value is created.
Teaching, mentoring, and coaching Green Belts (GB's) and Black Belts (BB's) to optimize functioning of Lean Six Sigma teams operating in organization.
Empowers others in the area through structured ways to elicit and implement their ideas.
Leading and supporting improvements in the work area.
Leading/facilitating continuous improvement.
Leading implementation of systems to support Strategy Deployment, Visual Management, Daily Kaizen, and Standard Follow-Up.
Being the focus factory Lean systems, tools, and enterprise excellence principles expert.
SME for the focus factory, demonstrating proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and change management methodologies and their application.
Communicating progress to Champions, Leadership Teams etc.
Establishing control plans and monitor appropriate metrics to validate Lean project results are achieved and track improvement.
Identifying needed changes based on daily process data and plan small-bite daily tasks leading to successful implementation of the changes.
Supporting and encouraging PDCA cycles to help drive learning through experimentation.
Benchmarking within 3M and externally and helping to implement best practices into the organization.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) years combined manufacturing/production and/or leadership experience within a private, public, government or military environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a supervisory role
Demonstrated experience with kaizen project leadership, Lean Management System, Value Stream Improvement Planning, Standard Work, and Problem Solving
Ability to create, lead, and work in a team atmosphere. Must understand and be sensitive to employee ideas and issues that may impact morale, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Must demonstrate the ability to promote positive employee relations and effective team leadership.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and influence changes with their crew as well as other management team members
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to write clear, concise, and well thought out technical documentation.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and writing/using data queries, extracts and analysis
Location: Hutchinson, MN
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
Relocation: Is authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without a sponsorship for employment visa status (e.e. H1B status).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
